THREE PHASE LOCOMOTIVES ENGINE PANELS

Electric locomotive:

An electric locomotive is a locomotive powered by electricity from overhead lines, a third rail or on-board energy storage such as a battery or a super capacitor.

Electric locomotives with on-board fuelled prime movers, such as diesel engines or gas turbines, are classed as diesel-electric or gas turbine-electric and not as electric locomotives, because the electric generator/motor combination serves only as a power transmission system.

Types Of Cubicle For 3 Phase Locomotive :

§Control Cubicle 1 (SB1)

§Control Cubicle 2 (SB2)

§Auxiliary Circuit Cubicle 1 (HB1)

§Auxiliary Circuit Cubicle 2 (HB2)

§Cubical F

§Panel ACD

Control Cubical 1 (SB1) and Control Cubical 2 (SB2) for Three Phase Locomotive is a panel to provide the interface to locomotive devices like pantograph, traction converter, auxiliary converter, pneumatic panel etc as well as to the control electronics.

Auxiliary Circuit Cubical 1 (HB1) and Auxiliary Circuit Cubical 2 (HB2) for Three Phase Locomotive is a panel of contractors, switches, circuit breakers etc. It controls the input of several auxiliary assemblies of the locomotives like machine room blower, compressors, crew fan, cab heater etc.
